Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reserve a room ?

We do not use online booking engines, we make all of our reservations in-house. The best way to make a reservation is to give us a call at 877-289-0111 or 305-289-1414 and speak to us personally between 8am and 7pm EST. You may also email us at sunshine@gulfviewwaterfrontresort.com.  In order to confirm a reservation we require a deposit of 1 night’s stay plus tax.

Yes, we allow pets.  There is a $20.00 per day charge. Pets may be walked anywhere on the property as long as they are on leash excluding the pool area (by state law). Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets, any damages that may occur during their stay, and making sure that their pets are happy. (It’s their vacation too:) 

What if I have to cancel?

Because of our small size, cancellations and early departures affect us significantly. We adhere to a strict cancellation policy.  Cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the arrival date to receive a deposit refund. There is a  $50.00 administration fee for cancellations. There are no refunds for cancellations made after the 14 day period.  An EARLY DEPARTURE fee of one night’s stay plus tax will be applied to reservations that are shortened after the 14 day period.

Can I bring my boat ?

Yes,  you can bring your boat or a rental boat or better yet bring your friends’ boat:)   There is a $20.00 per day charge that includes use of the boat ramp, dockage and trailer storage.  Due to the depth of the water at low tide, we typically limit the boat size to 20 feet.

What do I do if I am going to be checking in late ?

No worries, we won’t give your room away.  Please notify us if you are going to arrive after 7:00 p.m. and we will explain the late check-in procedure. 

Do I have to reserve the free boats?

No.  The free use of our paddle boats, canoes and kayaks are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available dawn to dusk. We supply lifevests, that are required and you supply the fun! We will explain the details at check-in.

What is in the kitchens?

All the rooms with kitchens are fully equipped which include: a full size refrigerator, a range, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware etc. They even have mixing bowls, measuring spoons and cups, baking pans etc. etc. etc. And if there is something that you need that isn’t there, just ask. Most likely we will be able to get it for you (within reason:). We do not supply the food or paper towels.

Can I have guests over?

Generally…No, but we may make exceptions upon request. 

Can I eat the fruit off the trees ?

Yes, absolutely. Depending on season you may find: Guavas, Mangos, Papayas, Bananas, Avacados, Dragon fruit, Mandrin oranges, Lechy fruit, Persian limes Coconuts and more. We only request that you ask first. 

What is your smoking policy?

All of our rooms are non-smoking rooms.  A fee of up to 250 USD will be assessed for smoking in a room.

Is the pool heated?

Yes.  We have a fresh water heated pool.  The temperature is typically around 85 degrees in the winter.

How old do I have to be to reserve a room?

Minimum age to reserve is 21.
